Over the past 30 years Be The Match ® , operated by the National Marrow Donor Program ® (NMDP), has managed the largest and most diverse marrow registry in the world. For the thousands of people diagnosed every year with life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, Be The Match works every day to save lives through transplant.
Senior Associate Nancy O’Malley‘s brother-in-law, who had acute myelodysplasia leukemia, was the recipient of a bone marrow transplant. His match was found in Germany. Although he died from complications, this organization continues to be important to Nancy and her family. They attend a number of runs and other events each year.
