On August 8, 2014, the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) announced the selection of Linda Darr as president. Darr succeeds former ASLRRA President Richard Timmons, who served the association in that role for 12 years.
Prior to her new role at ASLRRA, Darr served as president and CEO of the American Moving and Storage Association for seven years. Her other past experience includes senior positions within the American Bus Association and the American Trucking Association.
Most notably, Darr was a member of the Clinton administration as the deputy assistant secretary for budget and programs at the U.S. Department of Transportation from 1998 to 2000.
“ASLRRA undertook a nearly year-long search for its new president, and we believe we have concluded that search with an outstanding selection,” said ASLRRA Chairman Ed McKechnie in a company press release. “Ms. Darr has significant experience in leading trade associations and has spent almost her entire career in the transportation industry. ”
Industrial Search Partners is proud to have conducted this search and we congratulate Linda and the association on what we know will be a successful professional relationship.
