STAR is a not–for-profit organization local to Connecticut that serves individuals of all ages who have developmental disabilities, as well as providing support services to their families. STAR creates opportunities for individuals to live full lives with independence, freedom of choice and personal growth by providing support, services and advocacy. STAR provides services to over 500 infants, children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families with approximately 74% of these in the low/moderate income level.
Managing Partner Jason Ward has been involved in STAR since has daughter Grace received support from the organization when she was a toddler. Now that Grace is 18, Jason continues to fund raise for STAR to support those young adults who need assistance finding job opportunities and living independently.
Industrial Search Partners also underwrites the certification training for STAR’s specialized employment services. This training teaches job placement professionals how to successfully assess candidates and match them with businesses where they can add the most value based on their skill sets.
